Li Yu, MD, is deputy chief physician of gastrointestinal Surgery, Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University. He is also a master supervisor, a senior visiting scholar at Northwestern University, and the head of the Department of Metabolic Surgery at Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital. Li's research directions include gastrointestinal surgery and bariatric metabolic surgery, and he is good at laparoscopic surgery for gastrointestinal tumors, bariatric metabolic surgery for obesity and diabetes. He is also a member of the Bariatric and Diabetic Surgeons Committee of the Surgeons Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the International Federation of Bariatric Surgery (IFSO). He has published more than 20 papers in domestic and foreign journals, including more than 10 SCI papers.

Professor Li's research includes clinical and basic research on gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and bariatric surgery.
