Vascular diseases are characterized by a high incidence, a high disability rate, a high mortality rate, and high treatment costs. If the rising trend of vascular diseases is not controlled, this will seriously affect the health level of people and the further development of the national economy. Vascular biology centers dealing with the vascular disease frontier at home and abroad aim to further study atherosclerotic diseases. Specifically, this research aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of disease occurrence and disease development to increase scientific research strength and improve key technology to overcome bottlenecks between basic research and clinical applications in the process of generating vascular field achievements to make positive contributions to the protection of people's health.
The main research areas are as follows:
1. The regulation mechanism of the epigenetic modification of genes in vascular smooth muscle cells on vascular diseases;
2. The mechanism and regulation of non-coding RNA in the occurrence and development of vascular diseases;
3. The regulation mechanism of vascular smooth muscle cell division, proliferation, and apoptosis and its effects on vascular diseases;
4. The relationship between chronic inflammation and atherosclerosis;
5. Explore molecular markers for the early diagnosis of vascular diseases, develop related diagnostic and treatment products, and promote the development of clinical treatments for vascular diseases.
